On September
21, 50+ golfers joined GWBAA at the 1757 Golf Club for our Seventh Annual Golf tournament. The weather held off for
a nice fall day on the links. GWBAA and its supporters raised $1,000 for the Corporate Angel Network. The tournament
also benefited the Aero Club of Washington Foundation. Oakley Brooks was on hand to accept the donation raised by the
tournament on behalf of the Aero Club. Oakley described how the Aero Club helps high school students in the greater
Washington area to learn about possible careers in the aviation and aerospace industries. The GWBAA golf tournament date for 2012 already has been set – Wednesday, September 12 at the 1757 Golf Club.

Finally, GWBAA would like
to thank all those who came out to support this year’s tournament, whether golfer, sponsor (including all 19 listed
below), or both. Special thanks also go out to everyone behind the scenes that helped make the day possible.
GWBAA GOLFERS BRAVE THE WEATHER
AND ENJOY THE DAY

This year’s golf tournament had been delayed for the tropical depression that rolled up
the east coast on September 30th. It was worth the wait. On October 13th, 47 golfers came out to support GWBAA and enjoy
a day on the links at the 1757 Golf Club. Despite a slight drizzle in the middle, the weather held off for a cool day
on the course. The 1757 Golf Club opened this spring to 18 holes and was in fine shape despite the dry summer.
The course offered a new venue for GWBAA and a new set of challenges for the golfers. Plans are in motion
for next year’s event. We hope to see everyone again.
GWBAA would like to thank all our sponsors who made the day possible: Bombardier, Gulfstream,
Embraer Executive Jets, Hawker Beechcraft, Landmark Aviation, Chantilly Air, Signature Flight Support, NBAA, AIRINC Direct,
AVCARD/World Fuel Services, Rudy’s Inflight Catering, FlightWorks, and US Sedan. A special thanks to all our volunteers
who helped make this day happen. GWBAA will contribute a portion of the funds generously raised to the Aero Club of
Washington Fund.
GOLFERS ENJOY ANOTHER YEAR
OF PLAY, DESPITE THE CHILL, FOR A GOOD CAUSE On September 29, 2009, sixty participants made their way to GWBAA’s fifth annual golf tournament at the Herndon Centennial
Golf Course. Those that attended last year’s event no doubt remember the huge frost delay – to avoid the
cold for this year’s golf tournament, our Board decided to move the date up a month. But believe it or not the
day was actually chilly (and the pro shop sold many sweatshirts that morning)! Thankfully, the cold didn’t delay our
play or our fun We enjoyed a wonderful day of golfing, networking, door prizes, and the famous BBQ lunch.
GWBAA wants to sincerely thank those who made this year’s golf outing possible –
especially our major sponsors Gulfstream, Bombardier, and Sharp Details. Thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers
for making this golf tournament a success! GWBAA is again proud to contribute a portion of the golf tournament
proceeds to the Aero Club Foundation of Washington. The funds will be used to support aerospace education programs at
public schools in the District of Columbia.
FOURTH ANNUAL GWBAA GOLF OUTING A SUCCESS
HERNDON (VIRGINIA) CENTENNIAL COURSE REPEATS AS HOST
It dawned very cold on Monday,
October 20, but the sun came out and warmed the course and shined on all the golfers. The outside temperature
gauge read 31 degrees (F) on the drive to Herndon at 7am, so the forecast 67 degrees was a long way off. This
led to a 1hr 45 min frost delay, but everyone relaxed, enjoyed the great breakfast, had a few extra coffees, and began the
mingling and contacting in earnest. We didn’t plan it, but the delay actually brought the group closer
together, which was a big plus. A wonderful day for everyone.
There were sixty-one golfers, up from fifty last year. We thank all our
sponsors, once again, who made the golf outing possible especially our major sponsors Gulfstream, Bombardier, Welsch Aviation,
Signature Flight Support, Air Routing, and Embraer. And, we pay special tribute to Paige Kroner of Chantilly
Air, who brought all the pieces together.
THIRD ANNUAL GWBAA GOLF OUTING
A SUCCESS
On
October 15, 2007 the sun was out, the sky was blue, the course was in great shape, and over 80 GWBAA members and their
guests enjoyed a wonderful round of golf, an opportunity to network, and an excellent lunch. The morning started with Dassault Falcon sponsoring a hot breakfast before teeing off. Bombardier
sponsored the beverage cart during play, and Gulfstream hosted a wonderful BBQ after play finished. Specialty hole sponsors
included Air Routing International, Welsch Aviation, Multi Service Aviation, and Signature Flight Support. Hole
sponsors were NBAA, Sky Group Associates, ARINC, Sky Group Associates, AvCard, MartinAir, Chantilly Air, Rudy’s Inflight
Catering, Landmark Aviation, FlightWorks, and Sharp Details. Thanks to all our sponsors and volunteers for contributing to
the success of this outing! GWBAA is again proud to contribute a portion of the golf tournament proceeds
to the Aero Club Foundation of Washington. The funds will be used to support aerospace education programs at public
schools in the District of Columbia, including TransTech Academy at Cardozo Senior High School and Stuart-Hobson Middle School.
